Revelation 19:7

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
Yaay; let’s continue with our study of the book of Revelation by GOD’s Grace🙂
In Revelation 14, we are shown the harvest of the earth; a preview of final separation. The righteous are gathered, and the wicked face judgment. This prepares us for the later chapters, where Babylon falls, false systems collapse, and all counterfeit power is exposed. By Revelation 18, the world’s false glory has fallen, and heaven prepares to rejoice.
This brings us to Revelation 19 where Heaven Exults over Babylon:
19 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”
6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Here, Heaven erupts in worship as a great multitude cries out, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!” The long wait is over. The conflict is reaching its climax. And we are introduced to two suppers, two gatherings, and two eternal destinies. One is a celebration of salvation and union with Christ; the other is a scene of final judgment. There is no middle ground.
So; again, welcome to another THIS or THAT series🥳🎉🎊
Two Suppers, Two Destinies
The marriage of the Lamb
Heaven rejoices because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. She is clothed in fine linen, clean and bright for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. This is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb: a celebration of redemption, covenant, and eternal union.
Revelation 19:6-9 NKJV
“And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thundering's, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.””
vs
The supper of the great God.
Immediately after, John is shown another supper. An angel stands in the sun and calls the birds of the air to gather for the supper of the great God; a scene of final judgment upon kings, captains, mighty men, free and slave alike.
Revelation 19:17-21 NKJV
“Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.”
One supper is joy. The other is judgment. There is no middle ground.
As we know; this is the heart of THIS or THAT series
The marriage of the Lamb and understanding this dimension of relationship with GOD.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
Other translations help us feel the weight of this moment:
VOICE: “Now is the time for joy and happiness… the wedding feast has begun; the marriage of the Lamb to His bride has commenced.”
NIV: “For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.”
This is described as a wedding ceremony; between Jesus Christ and His Bride, which is the Church.
This is not merely about an event; it is about relationship, covenant, and identity.
So;
How does this play out in my life?
What is my role?
Spoiler alert: you are married to Jesus.
Why Marriage tho?
Marriage is the strongest covenant relationship known to Scripture. It speaks of:
exclusivity
faithfulness
love
sacrifice
permanence
God chose marriage language because nothing else fully communicates the depth of His commitment to His people.
Who Is the Bride?
The Bride is the Church; all who have been born again, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and sealed by the Spirit.
Who Is the Groom?
The Groom is Jesus Christ, the Lamb who was slain, now reigning and returning.
The Old Testament God repeatedly reveals Himself as a faithful Husband husband of His wife, Israel., even when His wife Israel is unfaithful; foreshadowing redemption, restoration, and covenant love.
Book of Isaiah
Isaiah 54:5 NKJV
“For your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.”
Book of Jeremiah
Jeremiah 31:32 NKJV
“not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord.”
Book of Ezekiel
Ezekiel 16:8 NKJV
““When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord God.”
Book of Hosea
Hosea 2:19-20 NKJV
““I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.”
Similarly, the New Testament depicts Jesus as a groom, and the Church as His betrothed bride; In the Bible, we are called the bride of JESUS so many times.
Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 25:1–10 (Parable of the Ten Virgins)“…those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.”
Matthew 9:15
“And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.”
Gospel of John
John 3:29
'He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.'
Second Corinthians
2 Corinthians 11:2
“For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”
Book of Ephesians
Ephesians 5:25–27
“25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”
Book of Revelation
Revelation 21:2
“2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
A Present Union and a Future Fulfillment
We are in a union with Jesus Christ now, and we look forward to the day when we will be fully united with our Bridegroom at His return. Until that day, we are to remain faithful.
The Bible was written in a Jewish cultural context, so these truths were communicated through Jewish tradition and imagery. To understand Revelation clearly, we must understand the Jewish wedding pattern that underlies it.
The Jewish Wedding Tradition
This relationship follows the ancient Jewish wedding tradition in precise detail:
Per Gotquestions
In Jewish culture the groom’s father paid a bride price, or mohar, to the bride’s family in order to negotiate the betrothal and, in essence, “purchase” the bride. The groom would also give a gift to the bride called a mattan, which became a part of the property the bride would bring into the marriage. These gifts were not always monetary; they may have been property or even services provided to the bride’s family. A good father was expected to share the mohar with his daughter or give it over to her entirely. if the bride and groom were of a marriageable age, the groom would return to his father’s house after the betrothal to prepare a bridal chamber. This process traditionally took a year or more (the length of time being dictated by the groom’s father). When the place was complete, the groom would return and fetch his bride. The bride would not know the day or hour of her husband-to-be’s return, so the groom’s arrival was usually announced with a trumpet call and a shout so the bride had some forewarning.

The Bride Price Is Paid
In Jewish custom, the groom paid a price to redeem the bride.
The Bride Is Set Apart (Betrothal)
Once betrothed, the bride legally belonged to the groom, though the marriage was not yet consummated.
The Groom Goes Away
After betrothal, the groom would leave to prepare a dwelling place at his father’s house.
The Waiting Period
The bride did not know the day or hour of the groom’s return. She was expected to remain faithful, pure, and ready.
The Sudden Return & Wedding Feast
When the groom returned, the wedding feast began.
Our relationship with JESUS CHRIST exactly mirrors the Jewish custom. We are in a marital (covenant) union with Jesus Christ. When a person is born again, Christ has already paid the price for us; just as in the Jewish marriage tradition, where the bride price was paid before the wedding was completed. After paying the price, the Bridegroom goes away for a time.
While He is gone, we, the Bride are called to remain faithful, set apart, ready and fully devoted to Him. Scripture warns us not to commit spiritual adultery, meaning we must not give our hearts, loyalty, or worship to the world or to anything else in place of Christ. We live in expectation of His return, faithfully waiting for the day when our union will be fully realized.
Lets break it down:
In Jewish tradition, once the bride price was paid, the bride belonged to the groom. Jesus paid that price with His blood. Jesus purchased believers with His blood, The Bride Price Has Been Paid, He shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20
“You are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body.”
1 Peter 1:18–19
“You were not redeemed with corruptible things… but with the precious blood of Christ.”
The Bridegroom Has Gone Away to Prepare a Place
John 14:2–3
“I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself.”
And at a future time no one knows ;He will return for His bride with a trumpet call and a shout.
Matthew 24:36
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
The dead in Christ and those alive in Him will be taken to heaven, where they will be joined forever with the Lord and take part in the marriage feast of the Lamb.
Revelation 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.
To summarize:
Old Testament → God is the Husband, Israel is His wife
New Testament → Jesus is the Bridegroom, the Church is His Bride
The Cross → the bride-price paid
The Church Age → the betrothal period
Revelation 19 → the wedding feast
This is not symbolism alone; it is covenant language, relational love, and eternal purpose.
Our Role as a Bride: Wait Faithfully
While He is gone, we, the Bride are called to remain faithful, set apart, and devoted to Him. Scripture warns us not to commit spiritual adultery, meaning we must not give our hearts, loyalty, or worship to the world or to anything else in place of Christ. We live in expectation of His return, faithfully waiting for the day when our union will be fully realized.
Born again believers are not dating Christ; we are betrothed to Him.
In 2Corinthians 11:2, Paul addresses the Corinthian church; and by extension, us. He explains that through salvation, believers have been betrothed to Jesus, and as their pastor and apostle, his responsibility was to guard them from false doctrine and worldly influence, so that he could present them to Christ as a pure virgin; spiritually purified, holy, clean, and undefiled.
“For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”
Jesus reinforces this truth in the Parable of the Wedding Feast in Gospel of Matthew 22. When the king comes in, he finds a man without a wedding garment, because being invited is not the same as being prepared. The garment represents readiness, righteousness, and proper response to the invitation.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
JESUS likens the waiting period to like that of the Kingdom of heaven; where 10 brides are waiting anticipating the coming of the bridegroom and due to their lack of preparedness in waiting for the bridegroom; they missed HIM when HE came; the doors were shut already, it was too late.
Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV
““Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”
Jesus ended the parable with a warning to us; Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV: to Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”
Honestly, Revelation only by the help of my best friend, THE PERSON OF THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD; has helped me, understand the parables more clearly. Seeing the end of the story has brought clarity to the warnings Jesus gave along the way.
The Marriage of the Lamb is not something we automatically participate in; we can only take part if we are ready. Salvation is the first step; it is how we even become the Bride. Jesus came to pay our bride price by dying on the cross of Calvary, redeeming us with His blood. Through salvation, we are brought into covenant relationship with Him.
But while salvation makes us the Bride, readiness is how we wait.
The fine linen worn by the Bride 'clean and bright' represents the righteous acts of the saints. These acts do not save us, but they reveal a life transformed by salvation, a Bride who has taken her calling seriously and prepared herself for her Bridegroom’s return.
The invitation has been sent. The price has been paid. The Bridegroom will return.

Now, the Bridegroom is coming.
The Bride must be ready.
Blessed are those invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
May we be found ready, faithful, clothed, and watching when He comes.
Today, the question is simple and personal:
Are you part of the Bride?
Are you ready for the Bridegroom’s return?
THE INVITE
If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, today is the day. Salvation is not about church attendance, good works, or religious background; it is about repentance, faith, and surrender. It is choosing to belong to Him, to leave the old life behind, and to enter covenant with Christ.
And if you once walked closely with Him but know in your heart that compromise, distraction, or spiritual adultery has crept in; this is a moment to return, to be cleansed, restored, and made ready again.
If you desire to:
give your life to Jesus for the first time, or
return to Him with a repentant heart, or
recommit yourself to live faithfully as part of His Bride
then respond now; right where you are.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe You paid the price for me on the cross and rose again in victory. I repent of my sins and turn away from every compromise. I surrender my life to You as my Lord and Savior. Make me part of Your Bride. Cleanse me, clothe me, and help me remain faithful as I wait for Your return. I choose You alone. In Jesus name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer sincerely, welcome to the Bride of Christ. Stay faithful. Keep your lamp burning. The Bridegroom is coming.
If you did say a prayer of repentance, big big congratulations and welcome to the Christian family🤗. Please reach out to us using the Contact link; we will like to get in touch with you and help you as the PERSON OF THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD leads us in JESUS name🙏🙂
